FAQ

Do you shoot digital or film?

I shoot digital using Nikon, but I absolutely adore natural light & the look of good old-fashioned film.
Although I shoot digital, I strive to give my images that nostalgic sentiment, extraordinary beauty and charisma that film photography is able to.
All photographs are taken in colour and some will be changed into black and white during editing. I put a lot of time and effort into the editing of your special photographs and you will receive them in a variety of colour and black & white.

Do you work with an assistant?

Yes, I work with an assistant at weddings. She is a great help and helps to carry equipment, holds the reflector and makes sure that we don't run over time.
She also second shoots during the ceremony and reception so that I don't miss anything.

Do you need a place to sit at the reception?

After 7-10 hours of shooting we'd love a place to sit to rest our feet.
I kindly ask that you please book a meal for both of us.
We don't mind eating with other suppliers and are usually busy shooting and not at a table.

What is the best time for couple photos on the wedding day?

Lighting plays an extremely important role in taking good photographs. Make sure to plan your wedding so that there is enough natural light for the couple photo session, chat to me in detail for the best time on your wedding day. Keep in mind that the sun sets earlier in the Winter months than in the Summer. Below is a basic guideline:

January to April: between 4pm and 6pm
May to October: between 3pm and 5:30pm
November to December: between 4pm and 6:30pm

Do you take table photos?

I prefer not to have to interrupt guests while they are eating or drinking to take photographs, they don't result in the best of shots. I do suggest dedicating a special area, away from the food for those photos where I will take a few group shots there during the evening.

Do you use special lighting equipment?

I'm a natural light photographer and in my opinion, the best shots are usually taken in natural light. When necessary though, for example during the reception, I will use a flash. One of the best things you can do though for good reception shots is make sure that there is a lot of light in the reception area.
